Design Philosophy and Objective

The core objective of the Swanubhooti Vatika soundscape project was to create an auditory experience that complements the garden’s design philosophy: nourishing the mind, body, and soul. The audio solution was designed to deepen the visitor’s connection to nature and their own consciousness by creating an immersive and contemplative journey.

Technical Implementation & User Journey

To achieve this, a sophisticated soundscape solution was implemented using strategically placed landscape speakers throughout the garden. This approach allows for the creation of distinct audio zones, each with a specially designed soundtrack that corresponds to a specific stage in the metaphorical journey of life.

The audio guides visitors seamlessly through the different areas of the garden, enhancing the thematic significance of each space:

  • Prashnapath: The soundscape in this zone reflects the quest for answers, with audio that evokes a sense of questioning and searching that arises on one’s life path.
  • Gurusthali: Here, the audio is designed to represent the wisdom and guidance of a Guru, creating a serene and enlightening atmosphere.
  • Kathangan: The soundtrack in this area is composed of inspiring stories and narratives, reinforcing the lessons that guide us.
  • Manasodyan: This zone features an expansive and uplifting soundscape, encouraging the broadening of the mind and introspection.
  • Sankalpakshetra: The audio here is decisive and affirming, supporting the theme of making resolutions and important life decisions.

By integrating custom audio with the physical landscape, the project transforms a simple walk in a garden into a profound, guided experience through the various stages of human life and spiritual growth.
